Ever since the Africa broke free from the imperial powers, what remained the same?

Many countries have retained the language, religious beliefs, territorial boundaries & bureaucratic organisation of the colonising power. Some countries have retained long term tribal hostilities. Although some countries started their liberation by setting up a democratic constitution, western style government etc., some have unfortunately fallen into rule by oligarchies, warlords, dictators and military juntas. Constitutional guarantees relating to human rights have not been observed. Slavery is still practiced in some countries.
